Never attempt to catch or kill a snake.

Always use a licensed, experienced professional.
Snakes play a vital role in our ecosystem.

We have an abundance of snakes here on the Sunshine Coast and knowing these simple things will help.

-If you come across a snake in your yard or while outside, stay calm, stand still and allow it to move on or if your at a safe distance(varies but a good metre or two is usually suffice) slowly back away from the snake; Bring children/pets inside/to your side until it moves on.

-If it happens to be inside the home, isolate the room by closing the door and place a towel at the bottom of the door, if the room cannot be isolated exit the area closing doors behind you and contact a licensed professional.

Please never attempt to catch, contain or kill a snake, it’s a fact trying to kill a snake is the best way to get yourself bitten, so if you're scared of a snake or want to protect your family then why would you take the one course of action that will render it most likely to bite. It's cruel, it's dangerous, it's illegal, it's unacceptable and it's a sign of an unwarranted fear due to lack of education and understanding.
